This 8-story building at 21-10 44th Drive in the Court Square section of Long Island City was erected in 2016. It has 16 residential condominium apartments.
The light-red brick building was designed as a tribute to the Newtown Creek Towing Company and its tugboat, the W. O. Decker.
It was built by Impex Buildings of which Leon Rakhlis is a principal.
Igor Zaslavskiy, the founding principal of Zproekt Architecture, is the architect.
The developer and the architect are based in Sheepshead Bay.
The building has a 2,700-square-foot, ground-floor commercial space.
It is located on the E/M subway platforms of the Queens Court subway complex.
Bottom Line
A simple but quite handsome red-brick building with only 16 condominium apartments in the desirable Court Square section of Long Island City.
Description
The building is distinguished by deep cornices above the sixth and top floors. The seventh floor is partially setback and there is a small balcony on the 8th floor above the setback.
The 44th Drive façade has a large glass entrance marquee and it has handsome, multi-pane fenestration.
