Carter's Review

The 6-story building known as The Gantry at 48-21 5th Street in Hunter’s Point, Queens, has 47 condominium units and was developed by Milestone 49th Avenue LLC, of which Bruce McLean is a partner.

It was designed by Gerner Kronick + Valcarel Architects, whose other New York City projects include 2 Cooper Square, the Brooklyner, 2770 Broadway, the Lumiere and Ten23.

The building is also known as 5-15 49th Avenue and was completed in 2006.

Bottom Line

A vigorous design with unexpected metallic touches inspired perhaps by its famous namesake riverfront sign.
