Carter's Review
This handsome rental apartment building at 86 Delancey Street on the northeast corner at Orchard Street on the Lower East Side is a 12-story building with 24 units developed in 2020 by Helm Equities, an affliliate of JEMB Realty.
It was designed by SWA Architecture and Alexander Gorlin.
The building is known as The Orchard.
The building's lower two floors are retail.
It is on the former site of the two-story, Moscot eyeglass company building that had occupied the site for about 77 years.
The building, which is also known as 118 Orchard Street, is close to several subway lines nearby at the Delancey-Essex station.
Bottom Line
A dark mid-rise tower with many glass corner balconies on the Lower East Side that is nicely modulated with very thin red mullions.
