Jeff Brodsky of The Related Companies said today in response to a telephone query by CityRealty.Com that Columbus Green, the handsome 95-apartment rental complex at 101 West 87th Street known as Columbus Green is "under contract" to be sold.
Related is one of the largest residential owners and developers but has not been active in the conversion field.
Mr. Brodsky declined to comment on the possible buyer or its intentions with the 10-story, red-brick property that has consistent retail awnings and handsome wood retail window framing and a very nice private garden. The building has an angled canopy, discrete air-conditioners and two large wall lanterns along the avenue and many bay windows. It is close to the very handsome West Side Community Garden on 89th Street between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway which is across from the nice Playground 89 and next to the very impressive PS166.
The New York Post recently reported that Douglas Harmon of Eastdil was handling the sale of this property and also the sale of the 305-unit Parc Place rental building in Battery Park City for Related.
