The Albanese Organization, which is based in Garden City, Long Island, will open a sales office in late spring for its third residential project at Hugh L. Carey Battery Park City, a 35-story, 250-unit tower at 200 Little West Street.
The building's site is bounded by Little West Street, Second Place, Third Place and Battery Place.
The New York office of Cesar Pelli & Associates is the architect. It was also the architect of the developer's other two projects at Battery Park City, the 27-story Solaire at 20 River Terrace and the 24-story Verdesian at 211 North End Avenue.
The new building, which will overlook the Museum of Jewish Heritage, is expected to completed by the end of next year. It is the last remaining site in the southern portion of Battery Park City and it will be highlighted by its curved facades.
In addition to its apartments, the building will have about 40,000 square feet of space that will be used by the Battery Park City Parks Conservancy and about 4,000 square feet of retail space.
Like the Verdesian and the Solaire, the new building will be "green," that is, constructed to minimize energy costs. Other "green" buildings at Battery Park City include TriBeCa Green, a Related Company project, and buildings by Millennium Partners and the Sheldrake Organization.
The Albanese Organization's other major project in Manhattan is 100 United Nations Plaza.
