Marketing has started for The Emory, a 15-story residential condominium building at 27 West 19th Street in Chelsea.
Skyway Development Group is the developer and MA Architects of which Morris Adjmi is the principal has designed the building.
The building will utilize about 22,320 square feet of the 23,000 square feet permitted under zoning for the site and it will rise without setback.
It will have a 24-hour concierge, a spa, and 15 floor-through apartments.
The elevator opens directly into the apartments. Kitchens have Italian white glass cabinetry, Veneto glass backsplashes, Sub-Zero refrigerators and cooktop, oven and dishwasher by Kuppersbusch. Baths have walk-in showers with rainheads and separate Zuma soaking tubs, Toto skirted water closets, and floor-to-ceiling walls with white Thassos boned marble and Flatiron grey marble mosaic floors and wall-mounted Brazilian vanities by Florense and radiant floor heating.
The penthouse has a terrace of more than 1,000 square feet and is outfitted to facilitate the installation of a hot tub and/or outdoor kitchen.
The 9th to 15th floors have north, south and west exposures.
Apartments have washers and dryers and a video intercom system and storage units are available.
In 2004, Skyway was involved in the conversion of the adjacent, 6-story building at 29 West 19th Street into loft-style residential condominiums. The building was built in 1854. The late Alfred W. Craven, owner of the neighboring 27 W. 19th St., originally owned the brownstone which served as a private residence and then a boarding house until 1903, when it was converted to retail use.
