The Kaish & Taub Development Group Corporation of which Norman Kaish and Leonard Taub are principals plans to begin construction of a 21-story residential condominium building at 160 East 22nd Street in the first quarter of 2008.
Mr. Kaish told CityRealty.com today that the building's facade and number of apartments have recently been changed. An earlier scheme by Kutnicki Bernstein called for 110 to 120 apartments in a light-colored building with balconies. The new design by the same architectural firm now calls for a blue-glass facade with no balconies and 76 apartments.
Mr. Kaish said that the building, which also has an address of 280 Third Avenue, will have a swimming pool and two-level clubhouse that will be partially cantilevered over adjoining low-rise buildings. He also said that the building will have a 24-hour concierge, a screening room and private storage areas.
The new project is on the southwest corner at Third Avenue and completion is anticipated at the end of 2009.
Mr. Kaish said that a special amenity at the building, which is close to Gramercy Park, will be "Bentley Service," which permits residents to reserve a Bentley automobile for their use.
Kutnicki Bernstein also designed 154 Attorney Street on the Lower East Side for Kaish & Taub.
