ODA New York has produced some of the city's livliest residential buildings of recent times. Led by Eran Chen, the firm's buildings creatively interpret the city's zoning code to produce volumetric designs replete with outdoor space and visual interest.
Their latest work comes in at 101 West 14th Street, at the central corner of Sixth Avenue in Chelsea. Brought to market by Gemini Rosemont, the 44-unit condominium usurps a mid-century bank building whose final days were made famous by one of Banksy's improptu murals.

After more than a year of construction, the team has finished enveloping the concrete frame with a stunning curtain wall composed of metal frames and full-height glass panels. The tastefully-reflective facade is said to be designed to maximize privacy and to yield additional indoor space. Now with the interior fit-out underway, the project is on track for Q2 2021 delivery.
The marketing and sales team led by Ryan Serhant of Nest Seekers International note that nearly half of the building's one- to four-bedroom condos will be light-filled duplexes with double-height living spaces. The 44 residences with design by Whitehall Interiors will maximize light and air, have top-of-the-line appliances/finishes, and many will feature a private outdoor space overlooking architecturally-rich lower Manhattan. A short list of amenities includes a resident lounge, common rooftop terrace, bike room, and a fitness center.
The building's location is convenient to both Midtown and the Financial District, and everything between. Union Square's farmer's market, Whole Foods, and movie theater; and the Village and the Meatpacking District lie to the south and west. Nearly every subway line is steps from the front door, in addition to PATH, and a bus-prioritized 14th Street.
Listings will be made public this fall and prices will start at $1.35M for a one-bedroom. The median listed price of a one-bedroom in Chelsea is $1.5M or $1,670 per square foot (172 listings). The central area is home to some of Manhattan's best-performing condominiums that include 35XV, The Greenwich at 65 West 13th Street, and of course The Greenwich Lane.
