While the Lower Manhattan skyline is rapidly filling with one glassy behemoth after another, Sir David Adjaye went in the opposite direction for his first New York building. Designed in collaboration with Hill West, 130 William pays homage to traditional masonry architecture, albeit on a much grander scale than in the style’s heyday: The building just topped out at 66 stories and approximately 800 feet high. Its hand-crafted façade is also well on the way up, showing the arched windows with bronze detailing that quickly became 130 William’s signature style.

The large-scale windows fill all 242 residences with incredible natural light and views of the Manhattan skyline and the East River. Warm, airy interiors are enhanced with luxurious finishes sourced from all over the world, wide-plank white oak flooring, and custom-designed fixtures and hardware. Open kitchens are equipped with custom Italian millwork cabinetry and state-of-the-art Gaggenau appliances. Both the kitchen counters and bath finishes were hand-selected from the Apuan Alps in Tuscany. The top ten floors are devoted to penthouse and loggia residences with double-height ceilings, private terraces, and extra-luxurious finishes.
In addition to luxury apartments, 130 William will house over 22,000 square feet of amenities, also designed by Sir David Adjaye. A health club and spa will include a fitness center, cool-down terrace, basketball court, yoga studio, infinity-edge lap pool, hot and cold plunge pools, dry sauna, and massage rooms. Additional amenities and staff include a full-time doorman, concierge, bike room, storage, private IMAX movie theater, lounge, golf simulator, club and game room, and catering kitchen with dining area. The crowning glory is a rooftop observation deck.
