A Tribeca development that's been in the works since 2010 is now on the rise. 45 Park Place, Sharif El-Gamal's 50-unit, 43-story tower is now just two stories above street level - according to a photo CityRealty snapped this morning of the construction site. Sales for the building launched this past summer under Stribling, but El-Gamal's Soho Properties soon parted ways with them and brought in Corcoran. Now, of the 12 current listings, half are in contract. The SOMA Architects-designed skyscraper is competing against a few other luxury towers in the scaled-back neighborhood, including 30 Park Place, 111 Murray Street, and The Woolworth Tower.

El-Gamal has yet to comment on the success of the building so far, but with big names like Piero Lissoni, the renowned Milan-based interior designer, and starchitect Jean Nouvel (Nouvel is designing the building's serenity garden and the adjacent Islamic Cultural Center) attached to the project, it's clear the development has been a high-stakes investment. Here's hoping that luxury buyers don't care about the early controversy surrounding the project.

45 Park Place will feature one- to four-bedroom homes which include 15 full-floor homes and two duplex penthouses. Homes will have Italian-engineered kitchens complete with Boffi elements like full height lacquered cabinetry, Corian kitchen islands, and Gaggenau appliances. The tower residences, located on floors 24-39, offer more space and triple-exposures of NYC's iconic skyline. The exclusive penthouses boast custom-designed Lissoni sculptural staircases, terraces, corner master suites, and as expected, spectacular views.
Amenities will be situated at the base of the tower and will include a double-height lobby, a serenity garden, a 50-foot indoor pool and spa, a fitness center, yoga studio, lounge, and children's playroom.
Completion is expected in early 2019.
