New York developers appreciate a building or site’s rich history, and that mindset has made its way across the river to Hoboken: Toll Brothers City Living pays tribute to the Maxwell House Coffee plant with Maxwell Place, a luxury condo development known for its high-end finishes and hotel-quality amenities. The project has been rising on the site since 2003, and sales have just launched on its fourth and final phase, 1000 Maxwell Place.
Select units have private outdoor space, and all 58 studio through three-bedroom apartments feature industrial-inspired interiors by Lemay + Escobar, rich wood and stone finishes, and oversized windows that fill the homes with light. Kitchens come outfitted with quartz center islands, walnut and lacquer cabinetry, and Thermador appliances. Open designs, natural elements, and luxurious fixtures make the master baths spa-like sanctuaries.
Residents of 1000 Maxwell Place will be greeted by a doorman and attended lobby, and the building’s crowning glory is a rooftop terrace with grills, lounge areas, and sweeping river and Manhattan skyline views. In between, amenities include an indoor lounge, children’s playroom, fitness center, and pool.
The building also offers on-site parking, but the nearby 14th Street ferry stop may render that superfluous. Other nearby attractions include Elysian Park, the Hudson River Promenade, and popular local restaurants, nightlife, shops, and schools.
Asking prices range from $750K for a 676-square-foot studio to $1.445 million for a 1,382-square-foot three-bedroom. Completion is estimated for late 2020.
