Just two weeks after getting an inside look at Charlie West, the Hell's Kitchen condo project at 505 West 43rd Street has launched sales and debuted new images and details of the in-progress dual-towered development. The buildings will hold a combined 123 units ranging from studios to three-bedrooms to penthouses.
Developed by the Elad Group/Mi&Co and designed by ODA, the condo's unconventional design (inside and out) aims to differentiate itself from the countless new Manhattan developments. Traditional amenities are replaced by functional and interactive spaces, designed by the renowned Andres Escobar, to foster a sense of community. For instance, the lobby is transformed into a double-height lounge with an adjacent library, the swimming pool opens up to an outdoor "living room," and even the bike storage is more of a sculptural centerpiece rather than a dark basement room.

Another unconventional feature - pricing will start in the $700,000s for studios and under $2M for two-bedroom residences. The most lavish unit on the market right now is a 2,340-square-foot penthouse with an ask of $4.9M. CityRealty had a chance to stop by the Charlie West site today where the buildings have yet to rise. The project is slated for late 2018 completion.
