With the High Line on one side and Hudson Yards rising on another, the farthest reaches of West 29th Street won't be so quiet anymore. Architecture is rapidly following suit with eye-catching buildings on the rise. Acclaimed architect Soo K. Chan of SCDA Architects made his New York debut at 522 West 29th Street, and was later tapped to design a second building down the street at 515 West 29th Street
Between its striking façade, five-star amenities package, and elegant apartments, some of which have private pools, Soori High Line has been in high demand seemingly from the announcement. As construction winds down, closings have started to come in. Unit 4A, a two-bedroom, two-bath, closed for $2,905,013. Unit 7A, a five-bedroom, five-bath, closed for $8,813,408. Unit 3B, a three-bedroom, 3.5-bath, closed for $5,368,929. Unit 2D, a three-bedroom, 3.5-bath, closed for $5,205,803. The average price of $2,377 per square foot puts them well above the Chelsea average.

Down the street, anticipation is growing for 515 High Line, also designed by Mr. Chan. A teaser site shows bird wings, perhaps the inspiration for the tall building with a curvy glass facade and the distinction of being framed by the High Line on two sides. Construction topped out last year, completion is estimated for this summer, and sales of the two- to three-bedroom homes are expected to begin in less than a month (h/t Curbed). All units will have private outdoor space with a fire pit.
