A few blocks from mega-development Essex Crossing, 100 East Broadway is impossible to ignore: A 180-foot, 14-story boutique office condominium on the site, also known as 2 Pike Street, is well on track for completion in the second quarter of 2018, as predicted. The building is one of Chinatown’s largest and most upscale office projects, and its glass curtain wall facade is almost completely up.
The clean lines and sparse details of the design by Studio C Architects bring International Style modernism to mind. Floor-to-ceiling windows will provide natural light and unobstructed views, especially of the Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridges by virtue of its location.
In April 2015, developer Yeung Real Estate bought the site, which spans the full blockfront of Pike Street between East Broadway and Division Avenue, for $18.75 million (Acris) under an entity known as Two Pike LLC. Shortly after the transaction, plans were filed for the demolition of the Exxon Mobil service station formerly on-site.
According to permits filed with the city, the ground floor will contain retail space. The second and third floors will have a restaurant that can be used as a banquet hall. The offices, including a fourth floor devoted to medical, will be on top with floor plates ranging from 863 to 6,076 square feet with option to combine units. Amenities will include an attended lobby, two high-speed elevators, and on-site, 60-car parking garage.
