Here’s a new rendering of New Empire Real Estate Development’s two-building residential development planned for 571 Ocean Avenue and 222 East 21st Street in Prospect Park South. According to the Real Deal, the Bentley Zhao-led company purchased two vacant parcels facing both 21st Street and Ocean Avenue for $11.5 million in 2017. For the last several years, the site held the unfinished steel frame of a never built school building.
Building permits were approved in January for Zhou’s 82,000-square-foot residential endeavor. The 9-story project is divided into two wings that will host a total of 108 units. There will be a community facility in the cellar level and 54 parking spaces. Amenities include tenant storage, a bike room, fitness center communal outdoor spaces on the ground floor and roof. Brooklyn-based SM Tam Architect is the architect of record.
