Here's another ground-up development by Issac & Stern Architects hitting Brooklyn's South Slope neighborhood: 186-190 21st Street. Permits were filed back in 2015 for the 5-story, 26-unit building but now, we have a first look at what will soon rise on the site. The architecture firm, known for their low-key, contextual designs, will bring forth a modern building with a red and black brick exterior and a setback at the fifth floor, allowing space for a roof deck.
Permits call for 24,995 square feet of residential space, indicating there will be condo-sized apartments averaging 961 square feet each. In addition to the roof deck, the residential building will feature storage, a package room, two recreation rooms, and 16 car parking spaces as well as 16 bike spaces.
Developer Sterling Town Equities paid $6M for the site in June 2015.
The sale included a parking lot, a two-story house, and a two-story office building - both of which have since been demolished. 186 21st Street will be situated between Fourth and Fifth Avenues and four blocks up from the R train at the 25th Street subway station.
