Coney Island is making a comeback in the wake of the devastation from Superstorm Sandy, and further proof of that can be found at 2885 West 15th Street. An eight-story mixed-use building is rising on a vacant lot, and architect of record Noesis Designs has released a rendering of the project.
While Coney Island is seeing thousands of new apartments, the underserved neighborhood needs retail and restaurants need to catch up with them; 2885 West 15th Street will help with that. According to plans filed with the city, four retail stores and one community facility will take shape in the building while 86 rental apartments will be on top. Details about the apartments are not yet available, but amenities will include a bike room, outdoor terrace, and a total of 99 off-street parking spaces.
The building is located one block from the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station and four blocks from the famous boardwalk and beach. On the same block, 2858 Stillwell Avenue has launched leasing with available apartments from $1,700/month.
