Months after permits were filed for the vacant lot at 33 Bedford Park Boulevard, the first rendering of the 11-story mixed-use building to rise has been revealed. Architects Studio’s design shows a narrow, towering white and gray brick building with bands of dark gray brick dividing each floor and balconies on the corner overlooking Bedford Park Boulevard. Plans filed with the city call for over 1,600 square feet of retail on the ground floor and 19 apartments on top, with no more than two units per floor.
A look at the rendering shows that the apartments will have large windows and built-in air conditioning units. Amenities will include a roof deck, laundry room, bike room, and storage. It is not clear whether the building’s residential component will be condos or rentals, but filings show the average size of an apartment will be roughly 810 square feet apiece.
The new building will rise between the B, D, and 4 Bedford Park Boulevard subway stops. Harris Park is two blocks away, as is the Lehman College campus. The New York Botanical Garden is several blocks down the street.
