As Fortuna Realty Group’s Aloft hotel continues to rise at 25 West 38th Street, construction has begun on its latest project one block north: Following the demolition of four adjacent buildings at 24-30 West 39th Street, a new, 300-room hotel is planned for 30 West 39th Street. Upon completion, the new hotel will top out at 27 stories and 323 feet tall. Peter Poon Architects is listed as the designer of record.
According to plans filed with the city, there will be no more than 13 rooms per level on the fourth through 26th floors. Amenities will include a fitness center, business center, and lounge. The hotel will also offer a ground-floor restaurant with outdoor space and a rooftop bar, the latest entrants in the Bryant Park area’s dining scene. Additional local attractions include the New York Public Library’s flagship branch and Times Square (the rendering appears to show views of a New Year’s Eve celebration).
