Throughout Brooklyn, boutique condos are springing up as a way of adding new housing to various neighborhoods in a way that is presumably friendlier to the local streetscape than the skyscrapers most typically associated with Manhattan. That cannot be said, though, of its latest entrant, 819 Lexington Avenue, a modern new five-story building in Stuyvesant Heights. The slick facade by ARC Architecture + Design presents a jarring contrast to the brick buildings on either side; and while a 50-foot height is hardly towering by today's standards, that nevertheless makes it the tallest building on its block.
The 10 units comprise nine one-bedrooms and one studio duplex. As of this writing, a pair of 626-square-foot one-bed, one-baths are on the market for $569K and $589K, the latter of which has a private balcony. Additionally, a one-bedroom duplex with full bath, powder room, and private garden is also listed for $849K.
Permits filed with the city call for a 300-square-foot recreational roof deck. 819 Lexington Avenue is located on a quiet street in Stuyvesant Heights, but one with easy access to the grocery stores and restaurants on Broadway. It is well situated between the Kosciuszko Street J stop and the Gates Avenue J/Z stop.
