Just over three years since the iconic Streit's Matzo Factory building at 150 Rivington Street was sold to developer Cogswell Lee, the gleaming facade is almost all the way to the top of the seven-story condominium rising in its place. While the shape of the building is similar to the factory that once stood there, its design will be decidedly different: Renderings from designer Gluck Plus show a pattern of alternating glass and opaque panels that will provide the ideal balance of light and privacy. The project is well on track for a projected opening at the end of the year.

In addition to floor-to-ceiling windows, residences will feature translucent sliding glass doors to create flexible living space, smart home technology, modern kitchens, and spa-like baths. Building amenities will include storage, bike room, fitness center, and rooftop terrace with an outdoor kitchen and stunning views of Midtown and Downtown.
The new building takes shape just around the corner from 50 Clinton Street, where very few availabilities remain. It also benefits from being surrounded by the Lower East Side's popular restaurants, nightlife, culture, and shopping.
Several of the 45 units, including four penthouses with private outdoor space, have already entered contract. Of the remaining availabilities, one-bedrooms start at $1.135 million; two-bedrooms start at $1.795 million; and three-bedrooms start at $2.885 million. They mostly come in below the CityRealty median price of $1.38 million for one-bedrooms, $2.646 million for two-bedrooms, and $4.381 million for three-bedrooms on the Lower East Side.
