The Manhattan condo luxury market saw a total of 26 contracts signed last week at $4 million and above, according to Olshan Realty’s weekly market report.
The priciest contract came from unit #6B, a $11.5M four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom residence (originally asking $14M), at the Carlton House, located at 21 East 61st Street in the Upper East Side. The unit spans 3,751 square feet and has features like a foyer with marble floors, an east-facing 22' by 18' living room, and an open kitchen with a breakfast bar, Dornbracht fixtures, and Miele and Sub-Zero appliances. Amenities of the Carlton House include a concierge, doorman, fitness center, swimming pool, and more.
Of course, $11.5M pales in comparison to an unknown buyer reportedly entering contract to buy the Crown Building's five-story penthouse for a record-breaking $180M. If the sale goes through, it will be NYC's most expensive sale ever at $14,358 per foot – beating out Michael Dell's $100.5M penthouse atop One57 by $80M.
