Just over a year after sales launched at The Decker, construction of the eight-story boutique condominium is complete and the units are nearly 70% sold. Its location practically on the doorstep of the Court Square subway stop (the first outside Manhattan for the E and M) is a powerful draw, but far from the only one. The red brick design by Zproekt Architecture stands out from the neighborhood's glut of glass towers in a tribute to the Newton Creek Towing Company and its steamboat, the W.O. Decker.
All 22 apartments have open layouts, 4-inch natural white oak flooring, and dedicated Daikin HVAC system for individual heating and cooling. Chef-inspired kitchens have custom Italian cabinetry and Bosch appliance suite. Bathrooms are outfitted with Grohe and Kohler fixtures. Select units have private outdoor space.
Building amenities include a virtual doorman, lounge, game room, fitness center, and outdoor space with grills, greenery, and lounge areas. The Decker has 2,700 square feet of retail on the ground floor. Until a tenant is signed, it is a short walk to the coffee shops and restaurants that have recently sprung up in Long Island City, not to mention the parks and galleries that have been there for years.
Of the remaining availabilities, one-bedrooms start at $780K, two-bedrooms start at $1.385 million, and a three-bedroom is listed for $1.585 million. Their average of $1,195 per square foot is slightly above the Long Island City average of $1,167 per square foot.
