Madison Square Park Tower (DBOX)
Another high-floor unit at Madison Square Park Tower ranked among the top sales of the past week, where downtown neighborhoods reigned supreme. The top sale was a four-bedroom condo in The Greenwich Lane that sold for $16.3 million. Further downtown, a unit in celebrity favorite 443 Greenwich Street also put up an impressive showing with a sales price of $10.3 million. (No word yet on whether a bold-faced name is attached to this one.)
But for all the glittering new construction to rise in recent years, historic buildings uptown should not be dismissed. An expansive apartment at 555 West End Avenue, Cary Tamarkin's school-turned-luxury condo, entered contract for $10.9 million. On the Upper East Side, a magnificent five-bedroom home was not far behind with a contract price of $8.5 million. It is located in a prestigious Park Avenue building designed by Schwartz & Gross, which also designed 101 Central Park West, home of one of the week's top sales at $12.7 million.
