Less than two months after closings commenced at Aman New York Residences, sales are still going strong at the hotel/condo conversion of the Crown Building on Fifth Avenue and 57th Street. The top sale of the past week was for #21A, which closed for $53,385,225. Floor plans show that the 6,287-square-foot apartment has four bedrooms, five and a half baths, a library, and a screening room. Also last week, another unit in the building sold for $6,022,425.
The second-highest sale was #PH29, a penthouse near the top of Beckford Tower, which closed for $25,215,893, or 13 percent below the listing price of $29 million. The sale comes in a few short weeks after #PH30 sold for $24.33 million; #PH31 remains on the market for $18.495 million. The buyers of #PH29 were listed as Gregory Poole, a former Goldman Sachs portfolio manager and founder of Echo Street Capital Management, and Anupama Poole, a prosthodontist specializing in restorative dentistry.
