Earlier this spring, closings commenced at 67 Vestry Street, a turn-of-the-century loft building turned artists' studio (Andy Warhol among them) turned 13-unit luxury boutique condominium. Half-floor three-bedrooms have commanded prices north of $8 million; and in mid-June 2023, Residence #9 had the top sale of the week with a $26,539,500 closing price. As per the building's offering plan, the six-bedroom, five and a half-bath unit spans a whole floor and 5,794 square feet.
It was trailed closely by Penthouse B at The Bellemont, a 12-unit boutique condominium on Madison Avenue in Carnegie Hill. This five-bedroom, five and a half-bath unit closed for $25,467,713, or slightly above the asking price of $24,950,000. The full-floor penthouse measures 4,784 interior square feet and has a total of 381 square feet of private outdoor space spread across two private terraces.

The Upper East Side was also home to the past week's top co-op sale: Public records indicate that William Lauder, executive chairman of Estee Lauder, bought a full-floor home at 778 Park Avenue from investor/former Revlon executive Ronald Perelman for $24,950,000. The Real Deal notes that Mr. Perelman bought the apartment for $8 million in 1994 and initially listed it for $27.9 million in October 2020.
