Over on the nebluous Clinton Hill-Bed-Stuy border, across from a playground of the Lafayette Gardens Houses, construction has restarted on a 7-floor, 10-unit residential building at 267 Franklin Avenue. Building permits were filed in 2008 by the late Chaim Lax, a diamond mogul and philanthropist in the Satmar community. An anonymous LLC closed on the site in 2015 for $1.2 million and now a rendering from Joseph Rappaport’s Vision Development unveils the site’s future may hold. Per the developers, the new building will have a virtual doorman, gas fireplaces, in-unit washer/dryer and a roof deck. There will be ground-floor retail, 2 apartments per floor from levels 2-5 and two duplexes on levels six and seven.
