Tishman Realty's mixed-use development at 110 East 16th Street is coming closer to fruition. The Morris Adjmi-designed 21-story wedding-cake style building will be reviewed tomorrow at the Landmarks Preservation Committee and if approved, will bring 50 condominiums to the Flatiron/Union Square neighborhood.
The site, currently home to a nine-story 300-car parking garage, was purchased from MetLife in 2015 for $35M. Despite its somewhat short 283-foot height, the proposed building will tower over its low-rise neighbors. In classic skyscraper style, its setbacks will begin on the 17th floor and will be topped off by a cylindrical crown.

The project will span approximately 80,000 square feet, with 3,500 square feet reserved for retail and community facility space and the remainder for residential. Units will average 1,548 square feet each and so far, we know they will benefit from floor to ceiling windows. Plans also include 23 automated parking spaces, an amenity floor on the third level, and outdoor residential space. Taking the design and location into account, prices are sure to be on the high end.
The project also includes the restoration of the landmark 4-story 111 East 15th Street, shown below.
Construction is expected to begin in late 2018.
