The MOXY NYC Times Square will open September 2017 and here’s a look at the immersive social spaces and cozy rooms the hotel will offer. As the first of Marriott’s hip and trendy MOXY brand to open in the city, the flag promises to be an energetic alternative to the typical hotel experience and aims to prove that affordability doesn’t mean sacrificing style or comfort.
Located at 485 Seventh Avenue between Times Square and Macy’s/Madison Square Garden, the development carves out 612 rooms within an ornate, century-old shell that opened as the Mills Hotel No. 3. The project’s developer is the Lightstone Group and tapped Stonehill & Taylor Architects and Yabu Pushelberg to do a top-to-bottom repositioning of the former office property. The suites will come in a wide variety of layouts and have flexible furniture, oversized walk-in showers, and extra-fast (and free) Wi-Fi. Each room will be provided 43” flat screen HDTVs, plush duvets with 100% Egyptian cotton linens and individual climate control.

There will be five new eating and drinking establishments within the hotel curated by the Tao Group. They will include a seafood brasserie, an all-day “egg-centric” breakfast spot and a communal lobby bar. Most impressive of all will be the hotel’s all-season rooftop bar and lounge which they promise will be the city’s largest. The official website says the deck will take on an “urban amusement park” concept and will offer lite bites, enchanting amusements, and decadent cocktails served with Empire State Building views.
Other hotel perks include on-site parking, coworking spaces for guests and locals, 24-hour fitness center, a private dining room and 3 flexible studio/meeting spaces. The hotel is currently offering an early-bird special which can be viewed at the website.
