The on again, off-again development called Hello Nostrand at 1580 Nostrand Avenue is finally starting construction and has now revealed a new set of renderings showing its interiors, far-reaching views and possibly a new design. The tower will rise on a large development site at the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Albemarle Road and is being developed by Eli Karp’s Hello Living who first announced the project in 2014. According to the Real Deal, The Brooklyn-based firm purchased the lot for $13 million in 2014, and attempted to sell the site in 2015 for $28 million.
Hello Living’s website now shows a new, more conventional design for the tower that differs greatly from the cascading mountain of terraces originally penned by Loadingdock5. Rather, the rendering depicts a two-story base with a sheer tower wrapped in balconies rising above. The approved NYC DOB paperwork relevant to the 2014 design has yet to be revised to reflect this new design.
Inside there will be 153 two- to four-bedroom apartments with direct key-in elevator access. The floor-through and open-layout residences will offer large terraces along all exposures. Additionally, there will be 160 parking spaces and a 43,000-square-foot community facility space within the podium.
