At 20 stories and 234 feet high, NuSun Tower is the tallest building to take shape in Flushing in decades. Sales have just launched on the 113 units inside with current availabilities starting at $672,810 for one-beds, $970,160 for two-beds, and $1,899,600 for a three-bedroom penthouse with a 340-square-foot private terrace.
NuSun Tower’s design by FXCollaborative includes the 20-story residential tower and a nine-story commercial tower with separate entrance and commercial condos designed for state-of-the-art medical office space. Setbacks in the residential tower allow for outdoor terraces, and its sheer height offers sweeping vistas of downtown Flushing, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, and the Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn skylines. The project is being developed by NuVerse Advisors LLC and Sunlight Development Group.
↓ The interiors were also designed by FXCollaborative, and all units feature lofty ceiling heights, large windows, wide-plank oak floors, Daikin central heating and air conditioning, and in-unit Miele washer and dryer.
↓ Kitchens have custom wood and high-gloss lacquer cabinetry, custom quartz countertops and backsplash, faucets and sinks by Kohler, and Miele appliances.
↓ Primary baths have wood-front vanity, soaking tub, shower with polished Italian statuario tile, and accent wall with polished Italian statuario tile.
↓ No detail is overlooked in the powder rooms, which feature custom quartz countertops and accent walls of polished rock stone.
↓ Select units have private balconies.
↓ Penthouse units have private terraces, open kitchens with waterfall-edge islands, and primary baths with double vanity and soaking tub.
↓ Residents arrive to an attended, beautifully appointed, Art Deco-inspired lobby.
↓ A double-height lounge features an open kitchen, remote working areas, and access to an outdoor terrace.
↓ The beautifully landscaped terrace offers barbecue grills, dining tables, multiple seating areas, and a children’s play area.
NuSun Tower also offers an on-site parking garage, but there is no shortage of ways to get around. The building is a few blocks down the street from the Flushing Main Street LIRR stop and the Main Street 7 train stop, the latter of which connects to the Q48 bus for access to LaGuardia Airport.
Queens Borough President Donovan Richards says, “This is a borough of parks,” and that is certainly true of the area surrounding NuSun Tower. The building is only three blocks from Queens Botanical Garden, which is itself located at the northeast corner of Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. Kissena Park, with its velodrome and sports courts, is located in the opposite direction. Sports fans will appreciate easy access to Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and Citi Field (especially now that baseball is back!).
The restaurants, markets, and cultural centers that have defined Flushing as the heart of Queens' original Chinatown are still going strong, and the area is also rapidly evolving into an attractive new residential neighborhood. Up the street from NuSun Tower, the Tangram development brought a food hall, a Regal Cinemas 4DX movie theater, new retail, and a new hotel to the neighborhood, not to mention new residential units that are quickly being snapped up. The apartments and amenities of the nearby Northern Lights have been thoughtfully renovated for modern living, though not at the expense of prewar charm.
