Prices are outrageous at Onyx Square, a new condo development at 2128 Ocean Avenue, situated between the Midwood and Madison neighborhoods (and just north of Sheepshead Bay) in South Brooklyn. Most of the 40+ homes are already in contract, including all of the building's studios, which started from an incredible $321K. And if you're upset you missed that opportunity, Onyx Square still has 9 units left from an affordable $622K. In fact, even the priciest home – a 1,300-square-foot three-bedroom, two-bath layout – is asking just $963K. Further sweetening the deal is a pending tax abatement for the building.
To separate the development from other new builds in the vicinity, New Empire Development endowed Onyx Square with luxury-level amenities. These include a lobby with a doorman, a fitness center, yoga studio, resident's lounge, children's playroom, zen garden courtyard, and a common terrace with built-in grills and a lounge area.
Apartments also distinguish themselves from the competition with features like extra durable oak flooring, bathrooms with heated flooring, and kitchens with elegant Calacatta Caesarstone counters and a hexagonal backsplash, custom built cabinetry & millwork, and of course, premium stainless steel appliances from Bosch. Most units contain private outdoor space.
South Brooklyn isn't exactly known for its transportations options, but this area is definitely an exception – and one that Ryan Serhant of Bravo's Million Dollar Listing NY even set his eyes on. Onyx is located five blocks away from the B and Q train at Kings Highway, which can transport you to Manhattan in 40 minutes, and a cluster of buses, including the B49, BM3, B7, B82, B100, and B32. So, take your pick.
