As the success of NoMad has seemed to fill every square inch of space on the streets near Madison Square Park with new development, developers are turning their attention slightly north to Koreatown. Exhibit A: 335 Fifth Avenue, where permits have been filed for a 26-story mixed-use building. Pi Capital Partners is the owner, and Raymond Chan Architect is listed as the designer.

The 283-foot-tall building will have 11,026 square feet devoted to commercial space to be divided into three stores, and nearly 56,000 square feet of residential space. This will house 82 apartments with no more than four units per floor. Residential amenities will include a recreation room, laundry room, and bike room. Demolition permits have not yet been filed for the five-story office building currently on-site, and completion estimates are not yet available.

The new building will rise in a bustling central location rife with new development. One block away, a soaring 40-story tower is on the rise at 316 Fifth Avenue. Recent condo construction on surrounding streets includes The NOMA, 30 E 31, and 277 Fifth Avenue. Additionally, New York’s first Virgin Hotel and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel NoMad will be coming to the area.
