Price Cuts: Parisian-inspired Upper East Side home cut by $495K; Sponsor reductions at Archive Lofts

The Summer Olympics closing ceremony took place on August 11, but New York's affinity for Parisian-style prewar architecture endures. New Manhattan developments like Greenwich West in Hudson Square, The d'Orsay in Chelsea, and The Wales (home of last week's top contract) have enlisted French architects. These also include 27 East 79th Street, which features interiors by Parisian firm Cabinet Alberto Pinto in every unit. The fifth floor unit features expansive proportions, custom moldings, parquet de Versailles flooring, and elegant grillwork. It was also among approximately 150 price cuts from August 6-12, 2024, having experienced a $495K haircut to bring it down to $4,495,000.

The past week's price cuts also included two sponsor units at Archive Lofts, the condo conversion of an art warehouse located at the nexus of Sutton Place and Lenox Hill. Many units feature barrel-vaulted ceilings and private balconies, and additional perks include state-of-the-art kitchens, generous closet space, and radiant floor heating in all full baths. However, it took shape in an increasingly crowded area, and sales have been sluggish nearly a year after launching.
