As construction takes place at 379 Ocean Parkway, contractor DCD Construction has released a rendering of the eight-story building on the rise. With a slick, two-toned façade and prominent balconies, it could hardly be more different from the sedate, two-story house previously on-site. There will be no more than four units per floor, and all 24 units will have oversized windows and private terraces. At an average size of just under 1,000 square feet, it is not clear yet whether the new apartments will be condos or rentals.
According to plans filed with the city, amenities will include a bike room, parking area, recreation area, and roof terrace. The building is located on a quiet street, but a short walk from the dining on Cortelyou Road. Commuters will appreciate living between the Church Avenue and Cortelyou Road subway stations. Completion is estimated for 2019.
