With its first residential building, a NoMad condo tower at 30 East 29th Street, there’s no doubt that Rockefeller Group has an eye on the future. However, New York’s rich history comes through beautifully. The building was named Rose Hill in honor of the 130-acre farm estate that once occupied that land, and the design by CetraRuddy is rich in prewar and Art Deco influences. Rockefeller Center may be several blocks northeast of the site, but there is still a direct connection between the two projects.
Construction topped out at 45 stories and over 600 feet high, and the intricately detailed, bronze-toned facade and expansive windows are also well on the way up. Upon completion, decorative lighting will illuminate the building’s base and distinctive crown.

All 123 units feature interiors by CetraRuddy, panoramic city views, high ceilings, hardwood floors, hand-picked materials, chef’s kitchens with custom cabinetry, and marble baths with custom vanities. Select residences have private terraces, and others come with “flex rooms” behind sliding glass doors, the possibilities for which are only limited by the buyer’s imagination.
One of Rose Hill’s greatest assets is its central location and excellent proximity to popular local shops, fitness, and services, an attitude that has carried over to the amenity offerings. Just off the attended lobby, the lounge’s library was curated by Strand Books. FHITTING Room is at the helm of the state-of-the-art fitness center, and the professional-grade squash court was developed with SquashRX. And rather than simply setting up a bike room just as storage space, the one at Rose Hill is programmed by Sid’s Bikes.
Additional amenity offerings include a landscaped courtyard, package room with cold storage, 50’ indoor pool, dry heat sauna, and pet spa. The building’s entire 37th floor is devoted to a private club where residents can enjoy panoramic views from indoor and outdoor space alike.
Sales began quietly in late spring. Remaining availabilities start at $1.185 million for studios, $1.235 million for one-bedrooms, $1.82 million for two-bedrooms, and $5.51 million for three-bedrooms. A two-bedroom penthouse with two private balconies is also on the market for $11.995 million. For all units, closings are expected to begin in late 2020.
