When renowned architect Sir David Adjaye announced his first New York residential skyscraper at 130 William Street, design enthusiasts and real estate experts naturally assumed it would be in high demand. However, the recent sales launch has surpassed even their expectations: Before the listings went online, 30 contracts were signed in less than 30 days.

The building is currently about 15 stories up, but the finished product will be a gorgeous new addition to the downtown skyline. The masonry-inspired concrete façade with arched windows is a wonderful contrast to the sleek, overly commercial-looking glass towers that have sprung up in recent years. To get home, residents will pass through a new plaza park that adds a gorgeous touch of green and sets the tone for the building.
On the inside, Adjaye put as much attention into every detail of the interiors as he and collaborator Hill West did the exterior. All 244 residences feature oversized arched windows, wide-plank oak flooring, open-plan kitchens with Gaggenau appliances, custom-designed fixtures and hardware, and luxe finishes sourced from all over the world. The top ten floors are devoted to penthouses as well as loggia residences surrounded by terraces at over 600 feet in the air.
Luxe amenities like a private IMAX theater, club and game room, rooftop observatory deck (rendering above), and health club with fitness center, infinity-edge pool, hot tub, and spa area would be right at home in a five-star resort. 130 William is conveniently located a few blocks from Wall Street offices, as well as subways that allow for easy access all over New York. City Hall, The Oculus, and Brookfield Place are a short walk away.
