Last month, we reported the imminent rise of Sharif El-Gamal’s forthcoming Tribeca condo-tower, 45 Park Place. Now the project team has unveiled the building’s official website, giving us our first look at the interior spaces. The website launch, first uncovered by The Real Deal, further cements the inevitability of the tower, which has been shrouded in uncertainty since it was announced as a 15-story Islamic Center in 2010. Now with the program mostly shifted to high-end condominiums and financing in place, construction work is well underway.
In this article:
Michel Abboud, founder and director of SOMA Architects is the building’s designer and Ismael Leyva Architects are the architects of record. The sylphlike tower will rise 43 stories and 665-feet tall from its midblock site. A new exterior rendering depicts the building's elegant façade and floor-to-ceiling windows, indicating that many of the building’s residences will offer northern views over Manhattan. Piero Lissoni is handling the interiors which, according to other published renderings, will have grand open-layouts, a serene lobby, with a bamboo forest beyond, and an opulently-clad swimming pool.
The website also reveals the high-caliber designers who will be working on the project, alongside El-Gamal. Not yet shown are renderings of the public plaza designed by Jean Nouvel; the three-story cultural center will rise adjacent to the tower.
