Owing to landmark restrictions and tight zoning, new construction is few and far between in the Upper West Side/Central Park West Historic District. Before work could even begin at 132 West 83rd Street, the four-story buildings previously on-site had to be demolished. However, a recent site visit shows that the textured brick façade designed by DHD is nearly complete.
The six-story building will contain four full-floor units, all with their own garden-facing terrace. A ground-floor duplex will have a private rear garden, and a duplex penthouse will have its own terrace. Plans on DHD’s website reveal spacious 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath homes of an average size of 2,200 square feet.
