While Vitre, a new condo developent at the cusp of the Yorkville and East Harlem, practically took shape on top of the newly-opened Second Avenue subway stop at 96th Street, its developer Wonder Works Construction was prescient enough to recognize that not every buyer can afford to pay stereotypical Upper East Side prices. As a result, a selection of one-bedroom apartments in the nearly-complete condominium are priced below $1 million. Naturally, most were snapped up quickly, but a sole one-bedroom apartment remains on the market for $905K.
In this article:
Sales at Vitre got off to a brisk start last summer, and additional one-bedrooms currently start at $1.55 million, and two-bedrooms start at $2 million. The average price of $1,675 per square foot is just above the Yorkville average of $1,699 per square foot (per CityRealty data).
Like all residences at Vitre, this apartment features floor-to-ceiling windows, high ceilings, and smoked white oak flooring. It is also one of the lucky apartments to have its own private balcony. The kitchen comes outfitted with state-of-the-art appliances, Caesarstone countertops, and custom cabinetry. Residents will have access to a lounge with terrace, a rooftop sun deck, and concierge services by Hello Alfred.
As a recent neighborhood visit shows, Vitre isn’t the only one to take note of the possibilities a new Second Avenue subway offers. Just down the street, pre-construction work has begun on a full-block, mixed-use project developed by AvalonBay Communities and the New York City Educational Construction Fund. Upon completion, the development will include two buildings for three different schools, a rebuilt playground, 20,000 square feet of retail, and a 68-story tower expected to hold over 1,100 units. Additionally, Inspir Manhattan, a senior living facility with amenities to rival the latest luxury condo has nearly topped out one block south.
