Estée Lauder Companies chairman William P. Lauder, the grandson of the company’s founder, purchased this 14-room co-op for $24 million after it had been on the market for about a year. The classically grand Fifth Avenue pad possesses exceptional architectural details including a vast windowed gallery and three large entertaining rooms with sweeping views of the Metropolitan Museum facade. Additional views include Central Park and the southern city skyline. The building was designed in 1912 by the distinguished firm of McKim, Mead & White.
