The past several weeks have been somewhat quiet on the luxury contract front, but 35 Hudson Yards changed that: #PH90, a full-floor penthouse with over 10,000 interior square feet and a private terrace, entered contract with a $49,500,000 ask. This represents a $9,500,000 reduction from when it was originally listed for $59,000,000; nevertheless, Olshan Realty's market report notes that it is among this year's top 10 highest-priced contracts signed. The buyer was not identified, and there is no word on whether its appearance on hit HBO series Succession had any bearings on the purchase.
It was also the highest asking price by far. The second-highest contract had an asking price of $23,500,000. 137 West 13th Street, a Greek Revival-style townhouse, dates back to 1845 and is one of the few remaining houses on its Greenwich Village block designed by Stephen B. Peet. The historical facade has been beautifully maintained; however, in the wake of a two-year gut renovation, the house features such amenities as a screening room, a home gym, an infrared sauna, a wine room, and full home automation system.
