About a year and a half after sales launched, and a few months after it was voted 6sqft’s 2022 Building of the Year, closings are underway at Olympia. Four of the five closed transactions recorded by CityRealty have come in above ask, and the average price of $2,327 per square foot is well above the local average of $1,537 per square foot (per CityRealty data).
Remaining availabilities range from a one-bedroom for $1.785 million to a five-bedroom penthouse for $19.5 million. They are housed in a Hill West-designed building that stands out in the local skyline for its sail shape and 270-foot height – petite by supertall standards, but the tallest in its DUMBO neighborhood.

A $17.5 million penthouse was not among the first round of closings; but in January 2023, it set new records as both the most expensive sale in DUMBO and the most expensive sponsor sale by price per square foot in all of Brooklyn. Last summer, tennis star Naomi Osaka looked at an apartment in the building while she was in New York for the U.S. Open. It was not confirmed whether anything came of this visit, but it can be verified that Brooklyn Nets player Ben Simmons is in contract to buy a two-unit combination unit asking $13 million.
When 6sqft announced Mr. Simmons’ contract at Olympia, it noted that the building is less than 15 minutes from the Nets’ home court at Barclays Center. It is also in excellent proximity to Brooklyn Bridge Park, Empire Stores, St. Ann’s Warehouse, and popular local restaurants, retail, and nightlife. The building offers private on-site parking for rent or purchase, but this is not for lack of ways to get around: It is a short distance from the York Street F, the High Street A/C, the Clark Street 2/ 3, the DUMBO ferry, and the Brooklyn Bridge’s bike and pedestrian paths.
