“Crazy Rich Asians” producer, Sidney Kimmel, and his wife, Caroline, are selling their full-floor home in the Ritz Carlton Residences at 50 Central Park South for $39.5 million. As the founder of SK Global, an entertainment company, Kimmel is the billionaire movie producer, philanthropist and apparel mogul. Other films he has produced include Moneyball, The Kite Runner, and Death at a Funeral. He also founded the Sidney Kimmel Foundation, which has donated hundreds of millions to cancer research, established The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in his hometown of Philadelphia, and grew to prominence by founding fashion empire Jones New York, now Nine West Holdings.
Designed by world-renowned designer Thierry Despont, the full-floor home spans the 27th floor of the building and was once featured in Architectural Digest. Despite only being a one-bedroom, the home has over 8,000 square feet of both interior and exterior space including two massive terraces, one 53-foot terrace directly overlooking Central Park and a 40-foot terrace off the kitchen. The home also has a corner dining room, a full gym, and an epic master suite that spans an entire wing of the apartment with his-and-hers dressing areas, offices, and baths.

The exclusive Ritz-Carlton Residences has only eleven homes, which enjoy all the services of the world-class hotel, but with their own private entrance and dedicated staff. Residents have access to the Ritz-Carlton health club, the La Prairie Spa, a club lounge, the Star Lounge and Auden Bistro, the hotel business center, in-room dining services, and housekeeping upon request.
Other major sales in the Ritz Residences include casino mogul Steve Wynn’s $70M purchase of financier Christopher M. Jeffries’ duplex and $25M for Howard Marks’ apartment.
The Kimmels also have their jaw-dropping $81.5M Malibu property on the market, which they have since lowered to a mere $65.2. At 90 years old, Kimmel is quite a real estate magnate.
