Since the launch of its teaser site back in August 2016, the long-awaited, 10-story condominium building at 265 East Houston has given us little to go on - until now. The Design High, based in Wiliamsburg, was responsible for the Lower East Side development's interiors that can now be viewed on their website.
265 East Houston Street is located between Suffolk Street and Norfolk Street and will house eight floor-through condos. Designed by Defonseca Architects, the building has a total of 11,976 square feet of residential space on top of a 2,510-square-foot community facility set to occupy its lower two floors. Residences will be a mix of three- and four-bedrooms. Sales are being handled by MNS and will officially kick off in the coming weeks.

The newly-published interior photos highlight the floor-to-ceiling windows which provide units plenty of natural light as well as great views over the recently-greened East Houston Street. The clearly spacious layouts average nearly 1,500 square feet apiece and contain an open-floor layout with a modern kitchen and plenty of outdoor space on the upper levels.
DOB permits for the mid-rise project date back to 2008 when the LIC-based 265 East Houston LLC first purchased the lot for $500,000. Since then, the project has been stalled by a series of issues, including the destablization of the Action For Progress day care building next door. Of course, with that building demolished, 255 East Houston Street, another 10-story development, is set to rise in 2018.
