For the fifth year in a row, Citi Habitats has teamed up with K&Co and Pliskin Architecture to make the outdoor pool at Manhattan Park, a waterfront rental community on Roosevelt Island, live up to the skyline and East River views its residents enjoy (h/t 6sqft). The project debuted to great success, and what might have been a one-time event turned into an ongoing initiative.

This year, renowned local artist and NYDesigns incubator member Elizabeth Sutton was commissioned and created a colorful, Pop Art-inspired pattern on the pool deck. The vibrant sunburst design features loungers, hammocks, lifeguard chairs, hammocks, and other deck furniture that also plays to the Pop Art theme. While the pool was primarily intended for residents of Manhattan Park, the public can enjoy it for a fee. Non-Roosevelt Island residents must pay $40 on weekdays and $60 on weekends, but Roosevelt Island residents get a reduced rate of $25 for weekdays and $30 on weekends.
Discounted access to the summer’s hottest pool party isn’t the only perk for residents of Roosevelt Island: All year round, they enjoy panoramic river and skyline views from their peaceful homes, yet Manhattan is only one stop away. And according to CityRealty data, the median Roosevelt Island condo price of $1.4 million is a bargain compared to the Manhattan median of $2.3 million for condos.
