For the first time since it was declared an official New York State and federal holiday starting in 2021, Juneteenth fell on a Monday in 2023. The shortened business week couldn't help impacting the residential real estate market, but a number of high-priced sales still took place during this time.

Shortly after Central Park Tower's #84E had Manhattan's top contract, the unit closed in the past week's top sale at $25,012,625, or 27% below the last asking price of $34,264,000. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom home measures over 4,200 square feet and features triple exposures, a thoughtful layout, a well-appointed kitchen, and sweeping views. The buyer of this sponsor unit conducted the transaction through an LLC.
The top downtown sale and second-highest overall took place at Superior Ink, where #16C closed for $15,587,500 in what appears to be an off-market deal. As per the building's stacking plan, the unit measures one bedroom, three and a half baths, and 3,234 square feet. Both the buyer and seller of this unit conducted the transaction through LLCs, but the building has attracted the likes of fashion designer Marc Jacobs.
The highest co-op sale and third-highest overall took place at the J.E.R. Carpenter-designed 625 Park Avenue, where combination unit #5ACD closed for $14,200,000. Public records list a living trust linked to Arthur Hershaft, former president and CEO of label-making firm Paxar as the seller; the buyers are identified as entrepreneurs Robert and Karen Kelly.
