On the residential side, interest in Long Island City surged by nearly 300% before the e-commerce giant stepped away, and extensive development and construction is still underway right across the river from Manhattan.
With all that in mind, perhaps it is not too surprising that the price was raised on Queens’ most expensive condo listing, which is just north of the iconic Pepsi-Cola sign. The three-bedroom, four-bath, 2,260-square-foot penthouse at The View at East Coast was originally listed for $4.25 million, but the price was slashed to $3.6 million at the height of the Amazon effect in November 2018. It is now back on the market for $3.998 million, and a tax abatement is in effect until 2027. Residents have access to the nearby East Coast Club’s amenities, which include a fitness center, heated pool, screening room, lounge, playroom, billiards room, and roof deck.
