LIC's newest boutique condominium, The Decker at 21-10 44th Drive, has just launched sales for four of its 16 units. A rendering for the mixed-use 8-story, 16-unit project by Sheepshead Bay-based Zproekt surfaced last year and has since undergone a color change. The new rendering, courtesy of Modern Spaces, now depicts a red-brick exterior with prominent cornices. Apparently, the project was inspired by Long Island City's maritime history and more specifically, the Newtown Creek Towing Company's tugboat, the W.O. Decker. Although the Court Square neighborhood is quickly becoming a hot spot for residential development, the blocks surrounding this latest condominium remain relatively untouched - for now.
Much like LIC blends the old and new, The Decker's traditional exterior is meant to contrast the modern residences within. The building provides a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom units but currently, there are just four one-bedroom units for sale, two of which feature balconies. With prices starting at $695k, potential residents will get more bang for their buck than in Manhattan.
Each unit features an open layout with modern details, including a dedicated Daikin HVAC system for individual heating and cooling, and engineered select 4-inch wide natural oak flooring. Chef-inspired kitchens pair custom Miton Cucine Italian cabinetry with Bosch appliances, keeping beauty and functionality at the forefront. Bathrooms feature Grohe and Kohler shower fixtures, along with Kohler toilets, sinks and bathtubs.
The Decker's amenities aim to provide a tranquil and necessary break from the busy city life. The building offers a lounge, an outdoor "backyard" space with barbecue grills, greenery and furnishings, a recreation room with a pool table, a fitness center and a convenient virtual doorman. Apart from eclectic shopping and renowned restaurant choices, Court Square is also ideally located for quick access to Manhattan, art institutions, and riverside retreats.
