Immediately following New Year's Day, which fell on Wednesday in 2025, social media was full of memes of panicked-looking people and animals with captions about circling back after the holidays. That appears to be what happened in the real estate market: Approximately 200 condos, co-ops, condops, and townhouses in the greater New York area experienced price reductions from December 31, 2024 - January 6, 2025, or roughly four times the number of price cuts that took place the week before.
